My Peloton saved my life during the pandemic shutdown

If there is one thing we can all relate to it’s this pandemic has taken a huge toll on all of us. I am sharing 3 changes that have helped me get through the pandemic and remind myself that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

1. Got myself back into a fitness routine

2. Started reading

2. Started reading

I have never been a book reader and with all the screen time we now face I was looking for a way to unplug. I was at a point where I was finding myself in front of a screen from the time I woke up until I went to bed. This resulted in waking up in the morning and not feeling refreshed. Now I shut off all electronic devices for at least 1 hour every night and read. The benefits to reading for me include; it gives me a reset, clears my mind, keeps me focused, continuous learning and I am sleeping better which in turn results in waking up the next morning re-energized. If you currently aren’t a book reader, I suggest picking one up and see for yourself the impact reading has on your mental health. No iPad’s though unplug and read a print version.

Planning my next trip for when the pandemic ends

I needed to find something that gives me a purpose and to look forward to for when the pandemic ends. For me that’s travel so I’ve started planning that next big trip. Doing research, reading travel books and watching the covid situation in the countries I’d like to visit. Travel is slowly re-opening and spending time doing something that will have a positive outcome does it for me. Planning for travel keeps my spirits up, keeps me focused on something that isn’t “work” and I’m passionate about it. It has helped me get through the pandemic and it may help you too.
