What Motivated Me To Travel the World

My mother said to me shortly before she passed, ” Geoffrey, no one wishes on their deathbed if only I had worked harder.” It took me another 3 years of reflection to realize there had to me more to life than “professional success.” There was a sequence of events that pushed me over the edge.

First, my adult autistic son, who was living with me, moved out. Second, we went through a purpose exercise at work, which helped me discover I lacked purpose. Third, I read two books: “The Dip” by Seth Godin, about knowing when to quit in life, and “Travel the World on S50 per Day” by Matt Kepnes. After spending 27 years in the corporate world as an Advertising Sales Executive, I decided to quit my corporate job and travel the world to achieve a purpose-filled life.

Hi, I am Geoff! Follow me on my journey as I share my travel experiences, adventures, travel learnings and the quest to a purpose-filled life at home and abroad.
